Ranking & Promotion System

REIGN's ranking system is designed to be simple to understand but yet fun, unique and manageable at the same time. The system's overarching goal is to provide accessibility and adequate coverage so that there can be timeliness in attention to any matter possible. No matter what time of day or night or what needs to be dealt with, our members should be able to find a ranking individual that can assist them.

While the games we play sometimes dictate (or limit) how ranks can be implemented within the game universe itself, they are always universally maintained here within our website and serve as our master ranking repository. While we try and translate the ranks here on the site into the game universe as best we can, sometimes a one-to-one correlation simply can't exist. However, given our tight-knit community, getting to know who's who and who you can look to for assistance becomes apparent pretty quickly.

Ranking Structure

Below you will find REIGN's ranking structure, complete with REIGN's unique rank names, a traditional rank name (to give you a more universal understanding of that rank), the responsibilities associated with that rank, and the respective rank insignia (which displays when the user posts within our forums):

The responsibilities listed for each rank below are by no means comprehensive. Members are always free to offer their assistance with whatever may interest them.

Promotions

Now that you know the ranks you're probably asking, "How do I get promoted?" The answer to that is a little abstract, but here's the deal...

  • Every new recruit starts out as a Hopeful by default (and remains so for the duration of their 2-week trial period).
  • Upon acceptance as a full member of REIGN, the Hopeful gets promoted to Member.
  • Getting promoted from Member to Veteranis where things start to become a bit abstract... basically promotion is based upon nomination.
    • Nominations are typically presented by the existing Veteran members about once per month.
    • Nominations are usually based on a combination of attributes, such as duration of membership, level of activity in- and out-of-game, friendliness, helpfulness, and overall perceived level of dedication to the guild.
  • Dark Councilors are appointed directly by the Sovereigns and Overlords. They are intended to be picked from Veterans and Members who are EXTREMELY helpful and willing to assist with administrative matters within the game environment (e.g. administering withdrawals from the guild bank, setting up/organizing/leading raid groups, etc.). They aren't always restricted to being picked from the pool of Veteran members, but typically it's those members who are trusted and most well-suited to the responsibilities entailed with the position. Dark Councilors may also be demoted back to Veteran status as they move into other games, wish to reduce their burden of responsibility, need to take a break, etc.
  • Overlords are appointed directly by the Sovereigns. Turn-over within this role is extremely low so promotions to it are very few and far between. Either the Sovereigns may simply pick someone they trust directly to fulfill this role or they may interview amongst potential candidates.
  • Lastly, the Sovereign role is essentially locked, though there are always two Sovereigns at the helm to maintain a system of checks and balances. Arzon, being the founder of REIGN and the primary administrator of the guild website retains primary "Sovereignship" by default and any need to fill the co-Sovereign role is fulfilled by a member of his choosing.
