I pre-ordered last night and started looking for a guild. I did some searching, and I think Reign's Charter, Code of Conduct and policy regarding ganking/griefing/camping fit me the best. And also, Reign's website is one of the only guild sites I found that doesn't look like shit.

Unfortunately it appears I missed the open recruitment by one day. That stinks. But whatever, I'll stick around until you open it again, and I'll stay active on the forums so I can get to know you all. The game isn't exactly out, so I'm not in any rush.

Let me tell you a little (or a lot) about myself. I'm 29. I moved to NC from Washington state about a year and a half ago to follow my job (and no, I don't miss the rain at all). I met the love of my life shortly after moving here, and six months ago I asked her to marry me (the date is Summer 2012 in case you're interested).

For the last five years I've worked for a large medical company specializing in women's health and cancer research. Specifically, we manufacture devices that flag pap smear slides for review by a doctor if abnormal cells are detected. I don't actually build the devices, what I do is support the manufacturing facility's workstations, laptops, and SunOS/Solaris servers. I joke that I reset passwords for a living, but some days that feels like more truth than comedy. I'm also a part-time student. I'm going for core classes at a community college until I transfer to a university for a BS in Comp Sci. My hope is to get a job making games, or to make my own games so that I don't have to work the 40 hour grind anymore.

I've been playing MMOs since Ultima Online came out. After UO I played Asheron's Call, EverQuest, Shadowbane, Star Wars Galaxies, World of Warcraft, and a little bit of Eve Online. My preference is to play PvP simply because there's no AI opponent in existence that gets the blood pumping like playing against a real person, however I also enjoy PvE and crafting. The most fun I've had was being in guilds which used voice chat and forums to coordinate events and tactics. In SWTOR I intend on playing an Imperial Agent -> Sniper because I tend to enjoy playing stealthy support characters who aren't necessarily in the front lines (and because they have big guns). I'll probably try to get the same character name as my account name is here just to be consistent.

I'm pretty much drama-free, which makes Reign a very attractive guild to me considering the guild policies. I think some traits about me that would make me a good asset to Reign is my established experience in MMOs and PvP, my preference for and efficiency when working on a team, and my active participation in guild forums. Unfortunately since I work full time and also go to school part time my schedule isn't ideal to be a hardcore player (and obviously real life takes priority for me), but during breaks and other periods of light work I can certainly play and participate more often.

So with that, I'll start reading on the forums and keep an eye out for recruitment to open again. Thanks for reading!

Nice to meet you and congratulations on your engagement! Sorry you missed our open recruitment period but you are most welcome to hang around here. We don't actually have a date in mind as to when recruitment might open back up again and it's likely that we might not open it again until a little after TOR's launch. If you are willing to stick around that long, then that would speak volumes to your commitment here.

Well Kass I am not a member yet still in the app process, but I do have to say these guys do seem worth waiting around for atleast until launch. I have been reading the forums a ton since I applied and hope to become a member.

To be honest this is actually the first guild I have ever applied to. I have always gone by what I can do in game to show my worth to the guild, but for some reason the website and the forums just caught my eye and decided to go for it.

Like I said I'm in no rush to apply since the game isn't even out. I understand why you'd close the recruitment, especially if you're trying to avoid being a zerg guild.

I live in Mebane, which is about 35 minutes west of Durham along I45. My fiance goes to UNCG and also has an internship in the Greensboro/High Point area. I go to ACC at the moment, not sure which university I'll go to after I complete my core classes. Depends on where I get accepted! I imagine that if I go to UNCG I will probably want to move to Greensboro so she and I can cut gas costs.
