So, I finally made it outside for the first time this summer xD! I went out with a bunch of friends that I haven't seen in a few months and eventually we decided to go see the new Spiderman movie :P As a HUGE Spiderman fan I have to say, holy hell it was awesome. Toby Maguire was an okay spiderman - but he just didn't fit. He played the role in an odd way that just doesn't fit the wise-cracking, unpredictable spiderman. The new kid really bugged me at first, but not long into the movie he started to fit into that role that I so clearly remember from my dusty old comics. The movie was awesome, they didn't infringe upon the other movies at all - totally new, and it worked so well. I can easily say I have never left a theater so... completely and utterly satisfied.. ever. I would have sat through another 2 hours without question.

If you are a spiderman fan and have yet to see it, go do so. It was totally worth it, and I was bad mouthing the movie constantly before we sat down for the movie :p

tl;dr, new spiderman movie was awesome, go watch it.

I may see it, but at this moment it is more 50-50 i think the last 3 spiderman movies were kinda meh borderline bad.

It's good to hear that they went back to the spiderman from the comic. Toby was ok but not the same story from the original. Will have to go see it, was going to pass on it but will give it a try now

Multiple times this new spiderman actor reminded me of Anakin.

I was going to make a post about this myself.

Growing up reading the comics, I was very skeptical about this movie. I felt completely dissatisfied with the Original 3 that I was afraid they would fuck it up yet again.

I was Wrong

This movie was the spiderman movie I had always wished to see. As corny as it sounds I was nearly on the edge of tears I thought the film was done so well. As a long time Spiderman fan they did so many things in this film right. I will without a doubt be seeing this in the theaters again before it leaves them. Thus far best comic movie of the year, Better then the Avengers... However Dark Knight is just around the corner so we will see.

I recommend anyone who loves spiderman to go see it. You will want to throw away the old films when you get out of the theater.

I was never a big comic guy, but I appreciate the old stories.

I didnt particulary LOVE the first 3 spidermans, I think 2 was the best, in a quirky kind of way.

But I am glad to hear this about the new one, I will make it a point to see it.

I just wanna say, as someone who HASN'T seen the new flick yet, I will only embrace the "new" interpretation completely when they kill Gwen Stacy. The first series didn't do it, nothing anyone has said indicates they did it here either. But, it's still early in the series.

Spiderman has to completely fail to save Gwen Stacy. It is one of his defining moments in the comics that became one of his foundations as a character. That vulnerability helped build Spiderman into the character we love today.

Caved and went and saw it yesterday. Didn't intend to originally, but ended up liking it a helluva lot more than the Raimi films.
